October 3 is the submission deadline for the Siemens Competition, arguably the most prestigious research-based competition for high-school students in the world.
Co-sponsored by the Siemens Foundation and the College Board, the Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology offers scholarships for individual and team winners that range from $1,000 to $100,000.
Details regarding eligibility and registration are available on the Siemens Competition website.
In 2005, two Arizona students shared the top prize at the competition, splitting the $100,000 prize.
